Monel valve manufacturer in USA
SVR Global manufactures Monel valves in the USA for industries that handle seawater, acids, and other aggressive media. Built from nickel copper alloy, these valves hold up in environments where standard carbon steel or stainless steel valves corrode or fail.
Types of Monel Valve:
Monel Ball Valve - Rotating bored ball quarter turn for quick on/off shutoff.
Monel Butterfly Valve - Rotating disc on a shaft compact quarter-turn control for larger pipes.
Monel Check Valve - One way flow closes automatically to stop backflow.
Monel Gate Valve - Rising/lowering gate full on/off shutoff with low pressure drop.
Monel Globe Valve - Disc against a seat in an S-shaped body built for throttling flow.
Monel Alloy Grades Used in Manufacturing:
Monel 400 – the most widely used grade, providing general corrosion resistance in marine and chemical applications
Monel K500 – aged or age-hardened type, offering high strength, suitable when there is a need for both corrosion resistance and toughness
Monel 600 – higher nickel-chromium composition, for high temperature applications
How a Monel Valve Works?
The working mechanism depends on the valve type, but the alloy's function stays the same across all of them, it forms every wetted part that contacts the corrosive fluid.
Gate Valve: The gate valve is designed using a wedge-shaped gate that moves up and down along the stem which is screw-threaded.
Globe Valve: A disc that moves up and down against a seat within an S-shaped body makes it possible to control flow rate accurately.
Ball Valve: The ball valve works by rotating 90 degrees within the body when the bore lines up with the pipe and the flow moves through the ball valve.
Check Valve: The check valve works with the help of a disc or swing-type arrangement, making it possible to control the flow in only one direction.
Butterfly Valve: The butterfly valve utilizes a rotating disc arrangement, which works on a quarter turn of operation.
Across each design, the body, trim, disc, or ball is cast or forged from Monel so the alloy, not a coating, is what contacts the process fluid directly.
