Pneumatic Actuated Trunnion Ball Valve manufacturer in USA
SVR Global specializes in manufacture of trunnion mount pneumatic actuated ball valves, which are compliant with API 6D, API 608, and ASME B16.34 standards. The valves are offered to customers across the USA for use in the pipeline, petrochemical, gas transmission, and process piping industry. Every valve has a trunnion supported ball and is equipped with a double acting or spring return pneumatic actuator.
What is a Trunnion Mounted Ball Valve?
The trunnion ball valve keeps the ball in position on top and bottom stub shafts called trunnions, which prevent axial movement of the ball because of differential pressure acting on the ball. The sealing action is by means of spring loaded, adjustable seats that keep the ball closed regardless of the line pressure. This design is distinct from the floating ball valve, in which the ball is pushed into the seat for sealing and requires more torque.
Design Advantages Over Floating Ball Valves:
Lower and more uniform operating torque across the full pressure range
Reduced seat wear since the ball does not bear directly against the seat under full line pressure
Suitability for larger diameters (up to 48 in. and beyond) and higher pressure classes (up to Class 2500)
Bi-directional sealing with independent upstream and downstream seats
Cavity self relief to prevent overpressure from thermal expansion of trapped media
Pneumatic Actuation Overview:
Actuator Types Supplied-
Double acting pneumatic actuators - use supply air on both strokes for open and close require a fail last or fail in place configuration on air loss
Spring return pneumatic actuators - fail safe close (or fail safe open) on loss of air supply, using a mechanical spring to drive the valve to its safe position
Rack and pinion and scotch yoke actuator types, sized per valve breakaway, running, and end torque values
Control and Accessory Options-
Solenoid valves (single or dual coil) for remote actuation
Limit switch boxes for open/close position feedback
Positioners for modulating or throttling duty
Volume boosters and quick exhaust valves for faster stroke times
Air filter regulators for supply air conditioning
Declutchable manual override gearboxes for actuator failure conditions
Product Design Features:
Full bore and reduced bore (standard bore) configurations
Side entry, two piece and three piece body construction top entry design for in-line maintenance
Metal seated and soft seated (PEEK, RPTFE) seat options depending on service temperature
Double block and bleed (DBB) function with independent seat sealing
Anti static device (conductive spring path between ball, stem, and body) for electrostatic grounding
Anti blowout stem design to retain the stem under internal pressure
Fire safe design per API 607 / API 6FA, with secondary metal to metal sealing on primary seat failure
Sealant injection fittings on stem and seat for emergency sealing and lubrication
Locking device for manual override and actuator mounting per ISO 5211
