Pressure Relief and Sustaining Valve manufacturer in USA

SVR Global manufactures Pressure Relief Valves (PRV) and Pressure Sustaining Valves (PSV), both of which have been specially designed for use in fluid process applications which require accurate setting pressures, controlled crack pressures, and downstream flow regulation. The valves have been designed, cast, machined, and tested at SVR to ensure that they conform to ASME, API, and ISO manufacturing standards and hence serve as an excellent valve platform for pressure and back-pressure regulation.

Working Principle and Design Features:

  • Set pressure calibration - factory calibrated spring or pilot control to a specified set point, with field-adjustable range for commissioning.

  • Modulating action - gradual throttling rather than instant full open/full close, minimizing water hammer and pressure surges.

  • Pilot operated control - a small sensing pilot valve directs hydraulic force to the main valve diaphragm for precise actuation at low differential pressures.

  • Fail safe positioning - configurable to fail open or fail closed depending on upstream/downstream safety requirements.

  • Low cracking pressure tolerance - tight tolerance bands around cracking and reseating pressure for repeatable performance.

  • Corrosion-resistant trims - hardened or coated seats and discs to resist erosion from cavitation and high velocity flow.

Types of Pressure Relief and Sustaining Valves Manufactured:

Pressure Relief Valve-

  • Spring loaded direct acting pressure relief valves

  • Pilot operated pressure relief valves for high-capacity discharge

  • Angle pattern and globe pattern relief valves

  • Full lift and low lift safety relief valves

Pressure Sustaining / Back Pressure Valve-

  • Diaphragm actuated pressure sustaining valves

  • Piston actuated back pressure control valves

  • Pressure-reducing cum pressure sustaining combination valves

  • Multi function pilot control valves (pressure sustaining + flow control)

Materials of Construction:

  • SVR Global casts and machines valve bodies in ductile iron, WCB carbon steel, and stainless steel grades (CF8/CF8M) to match fluid compatibility, working pressure, and ambient exposure conditions.

  • Stainless steel or stellite coatings are applied to the internals trim on seats and discs for increased durability when subjected to cavitation or high flow velocities, whereas the materials for the diaphragms and elastomeric seals can be either EPDM, NBR, PTFE, or Viton depending upon the temperature and chemicals involved.

Applications:

  • Municipal and industrial water distribution networks - zone pressure management, pressure reduction at district metering areas, and pump station discharge protection

  • Irrigation and bulk water transmission pipelines - sustaining upstream pressure across long transmission mains and canal fed systems

  • Fire protection water supply systems - maintaining minimum header pressure and relieving surge pressure in fire pump discharge lines

  • Boiler feedwater and steam distribution systems - protecting boiler drums and steam headers from overpressure excursions

  • Oil and gas gathering and transmission pipelines - surge relief and back-pressure regulation on wellhead and pipeline manifolds

  • Power generation plants - condenser cooling water systems, auxiliary steam lines, and turbine bypass protection

  • Desalination and water treatment plants - membrane inlet pressure sustaining and reverse-osmosis skid protection

  • Chemical and process plants - overpressure protection on reactors, storage tanks, and transfer pipelines

  • Marine and offshore piping systems - ballast, cooling, and fuel transfer line pressure control

  • Pulp, paper, and process manufacturing utilities - steam and process water header pressure regulation

Installation and Maintenance Guidelines:

  • Install pressure relief valves in a vertical, upright orientation unless the design specifically permits angle mounting

  • Provide adequate straight-pipe run upstream and downstream to stabilize flow at the sensing point

  • Verify set pressure at commissioning using a calibrated test gauge before the line is put into service

  • Inspect diaphragms, seats, and pilot tubing on a scheduled interval, particularly in high cycle or cavitating service

  • Flush pilot sensing lines periodically to prevent debris blockage that can cause erratic modulation

Customization and OEM Capability:

SVR Global manufactures pressure relief and pressure sustaining valves to project specific configurations rather than catalog specification alone, supporting engineering procurement contractors, panel builders, and OEM partners who require non standard builds.
