The Gate Valve is the most typical type of valve used in water supply systems. It works as an isolation valve with linear motion and can either stop or start the flow. This indicates that the inner diameter of the connected pipe is the same as the valve port’s size. The fluid flow is passed via full-bore gate valves without any interruptions, and they do not reduce pipeline pressure. It is opened and closed by either a motor or a handwheel to turn a threaded stem. When the gate is entirely lifted, the fluid can move through the valve without any obstructions. When the gate is lowered, the valve is effectively closed off since it obstructs the fluid path. They are designed as full-port valves.
