Wafer butterfly valve manufacturer in USA
SVR Global manufactures wafer style butterfly valves designed to fit between two pipe flanges. The wafer design has no bolt holes of its own, it is clamped in position by the bolts running through the adjoining pipe flanges, setting it apart from lug style valves that mount independently.
How Wafer Butterfly Valves Work?
The Disc:
A circular disc sits at the center of the valve body, mounted on a rotating shaft.
The Stem:
The stem runs through the disc and connects to a handle, gear operator, or actuator, depending on the application.
Rotation Controls Flow:
Fully open - the disc turns parallel to the flow path, allowing near unrestricted passage
Fully closed - the disc turns perpendicular to the flow path and seals against the seat
Partially open - intermediate positions throttle and regulate flow rate
Sealing:
SVR Global valves use an elastomer seat, available in EPDM, Nitrile, or PTFE, that compresses against the disc edge to form a tight seal when the valve is closed.
Quarter Turn Operation:
A 90-degree turn of the stem moves the valve from fully open to fully closed, offering faster operation than multi turn valve types such as gate valves.
Where SVR Global Wafer Butterfly Valves Are Used ?
Water Treatment and Distribution - Used in municipal water systems and sewage treatment plants to control flow.
Fire Protection Systems - Applied to divide the sections of the sprinkler pipe network for maintenance and testing purposes.
Chemical Processing - Set up with PTFE lined seats and discs to deal with corrosive liquids.
Marine and Offshore Applications - Installed in the cooling systems for sea water and ballast tanks due to their compactness.
Power Generation - Used in cooling water circuits and auxiliary process lines at power plants.
Oil and Gas - Applied in process and utility piping across upstream and downstream operations.
Materials Used in SVR Global Wafer Butterfly Valves:
