Bronze Globe Valve

Browse our high-performance industrial valves engineered for excellence.

Bronze Globe Valve manufacturer in USA

SVR Global specializes in manufacturing bronze globe valves which provide for regulating flows, throttling as well as shut off operations in the USA. These valves are made from high quality bronze alloy castings and are designed to meet the accepted dimensional as well as temperature-pressure standards.

What is a Bronze Globe Valve?

A linear motion valve where a disc seats against a ring seat perpendicular to flow, offering precise throttling and controlled pressure drop compared to gate valves.

Body Material and Alloy Composition:

SVR Global uses cast bronze for the valve body of their globe valves, which are usually in line with ASTM B62 standards, and are highly resistant to corrosion by water, steam condensate, and mildly corrosive liquids. The brass alloy is easy to cast, machine, and does not easily undergo dezincification.

Design Features:

  • Cast bronze body per ASTM B62, DZR grades available

  • Renewable bronze or composition disc

  • Integral or renewable bronze seat ring

  • Rising stem, non-rotating disc or rising stem, rotating disc

  • Union bonnet, screwed bonnet, or bolted bonnet options

  • Backseat feature for packing replacement under pressure

Technical Specifications:

  • Size range: 1/4" to 4" (DN8–DN100)

  • Pressure class: 125, 150, 200, 300

  • End connections: Screwed (NPT/BSP), socket weld, flanged

  • Working pressure: up to 300 PSI

  • Temperature rating: up to 366°F (186°C)

  • Trim: bronze, brass, or stainless steel

  • Testing: hydrostatic shell and seat test per MSS SP-80

Standards Compliance:

  • ASTM B62 - bronze casting composition

  • MSS SP-80 - bronze gate, globe, angle, check valves

  • ASME B16.15 - threaded fitting dimensions

  • ASME B16.24 - flange dimensions

  • ISO 9001 manufacturing framework

Quality Applications:

  • Steam distribution and condensate lines

  • Water treatment and distribution networks

  • Marine bilge, ballast, and seawater systems

  • Chemical processing lines

  • Pulp and paper mill piping

  • Power generation auxiliary steam lines

  • Fire protection isolation points

  • Compressed air distribution

  • Oil and gas facility utility piping

Maintenance & Seat Lapping:

  • Isolate the line and relieve pressure before opening the union bonnet

  • Unscrew the union nut to separate the bonnet assembly from the body

  • Inspect disc and seat ring for erosion, pitting, or scoring

  • Lap the seat ring using a fine lapping compound and lapping tool until a uniform contact line is restored

  • Replace the disc if wear prevents a tight seal after lapping

  • Remove the gland nut to access and replace the stem packing

  • Repack the stuffing box with new packing rings suited to the service temperature

  • Tighten the gland nut evenly to seat the packing without over compressing the stem

  • Reassemble the union bonnet and hand tighten before final torquing

  • Hydrostatically test the valve before returning it to service

Customization Options:

  • Bore size configured from 1/4 inch to 4 inches based on flow requirement

  • Stem material offered in bronze, brass, or stainless steel for wear resistance

  • Seat material selectable as bronze, composition disc, or PTFE-faced for tighter shutoff

  • End connections customized as screwed, socket weld, or flanged per project specification

  • Bonnet type selectable as union, screwed, or bolted based on maintenance frequency

  • Marking and branding applied on the body as per OEM specification, including logo, part number, and pressure class

  • Packaging customization available for OEM labeling, cartons, or bulk export crates

Why Bronze Globe Valve?

  • Corrosion resistance against water, steam condensate, and mildly corrosive fluids extends service life in wet piping systems

  • Good machinability allows tight tolerances on seat and disc surfaces, improving shutoff quality

  • Lower weight compared to cast steel or cast iron bodies, easing installation in smaller-bore lines

  • Natural resistance to scaling and mineral buildup keeps flow passages cleaner over time

  • Suitable for a wide working pressure and temperature range without added coating or lining

  • Cost effective alternative to stainless steel for low to medium pressure applications

  • Disc and seat geometry gives finer throttling control than gate or ball valves, useful where flow rate needs adjustment rather than just on/off operation

  • Union bonnet variants allow in line maintenance, reducing downtime and repiping during servicing
