Types of dual plate check valve: Dual Plate Flanged Check Valve- Dual Plate Lug Check Valve- Dual Plate Wafer Check Valve- Forward flow pressure pushes the two discs open around the central hinge pin Fluid passes through the open discs with a low pressure drop across the valve body As flow decreases or the pump stops, the spring mechanism begins closing the discs The discs seat fully before reverse flow can build velocity, limiting slam and pressure surge in the line Because closure is spring assisted rather than gravity dependent, these valves can be installed horizontally or vertically, in any orientation the piping layout requires.
