Bellows: Located above the poppet, the bellows reduce backpressure. Back Pressure is pressure that builds up at the valve's outlet and can flow back into the valve. The bellows arrangement balances the forces acting on the disc, so back pressure has little effect on the valve's opening pressure.
Disc: Located at the top of the valve, the disc acts as a lid to keep fluid from escaping under normal circumstances. When the pressure inside the system exceeds the predetermined level, the spring's force overcomes the resistance holding the disc in place.
