Thermal Safety Valve

SVR Global is a leading Thermal Safety Valve Manufacturer and supplier around the world.  When the thermal expansion of a liquid causes excessive pressure in a closed system, the thermal safety valve is used. When a fluid heats up, it expands slightly, but not nearly as much as a gas. Furthermore, even if the temperature rises considerably, the fluid volume does not change by a huge amount or very quickly. This sort of valve is known as a “thermal relief valve” in the industry.

What is a thermal safety valve?
A thermal safety valve is a device that protects equipment against thermal expansion-induced overpressure. They are used to detect heat levels and control fluid flow. It’s especially crucial to check that the inlets aren’t clogged, as this type of valve won’t function if they are. A thermal safety valve’s principal function is to reduce excessive pressure, either manually or automatically. They require less maintenance when compared to other valves.

How Thermal Safety Valve works?
The thermal safety valve is utilized when the thermal expansion of a liquid generates excessive pressure in a closed structure. When heated, a liquid expands slightly more than a gas. Despite the fact that the primary goal of utilising a thermal safety valve is to prevent overheating and maintain a vacuum, the pressure of the liquid does not change by a substantial amount and is usually not very quickly. It relieves overpressure in a piping/equipment system that has been heated or expanded thermally due to a temperature rise or continuous heat input, especially when the system is blocked. The liquid stored within the sensor changes state from liquid to gas as the temperature rises. The resulting volume increase causes the extendable bellows within the valve to press on the obturator and raise it up, creating a mechanical motion.

When is thermal safety valve used ?
When the thermal expansion of a liquid causes excessive pressure in a closed device, the thermal safety valve is used. A liquid expands slightly more than a gas when heated. Even when the temperature of the liquid rises drastically, the pressure of the liquid does not vary significantly and is usually not particularly fast.

Two Types of thermal safety valve:
Low lift thermal safety valve
Full lift thermal safety valve
