Check Valve Manufacturers in USA

A check valve is a safety device that is self-activating and is designed to allow fluid to flow in only one direction. Also called a non-return valve, its primary function is to prevent backflow, which can damage pumps, compressors, and other expensive equipment within a piping system. An SVR Global check valve operates automatically based on pressure changes, they do not require an external actuator or manual handle.

How does a Check Valve Work?

The operation of a check valve depends on a principle called cracking pressure. When the fluid moving forward reaches a high enough pressure, it pushes the valve’s internal disc or ball open. As long as there is sufficient flow, the valve remains open. If the flow slows down or reverses, the pressure drops, and the disc automatically moves back to the closed position, often assisted by gravity or a spring, sealing the path and stopping backflow immediately.

Materials and Construction :

To ensure durability in different environments,a check valve is manufactured using:

  • Carbon Steel (WCB, LCB): Ideal for high pressure and high temperature utility lines.
  • Stainless Steel (CF8, CF8M, SS316): Standard for corrosive chemical or marine applications.
  • Ductile Iron: Frequently used in water and wastewater systems.
  • Specialty Alloys: Duplex and Super Duplex for highly aggressive industrial processes.

Types of Check Valves :

  • Swing Check Valve: It uses a swinging disc to allow full flow. It is common in horizontal lines.
  • Lift Check Valve: It moves vertically and is used in high pressure systems.
  • Dual Plate Check Valve: It is a compact, lightweight design that minimizes water hammer.
  • Ball Check Valve: It uses a spherical ball to block backflow, ideal for viscous fluids.

Industry Applications :

A check valve is found in almost every industrial fluid system, including:

  • Water Treatment: Preventing contaminated water from flowing back into clean supplies.
  • Oil and Gas: Protecting pumps and preventing reverse flow in pipelines.
  • Chemical Processing: Safeguarding reactors from back-pressure.
  • HVAC Systems: Maintaining consistent flow in heating and cooling loops.

Standards and Technical Specifications :

SVR Global check valve meets rigorous engineering benchmarks to ensure global reliability:

  • Size Range: DN15 to DN1200 (1/2″ to 48″).
  • Pressure Ratings: Class 150 to 2500 / PN10 to PN420.
  • Design Standards: API 6D, ASME B16.34, and BS 1868.

Inspection and Quality Testing :

Each valve undergoes strict verification before shipment:

  • Shell and Seat Testing: Conducted per API 598 to ensure the body and seal are leak-proof.
  • Visual Inspection: Checking for surface integrity and dimensional accuracy.
  • Material Certification: Providing EN 10204 3.1 certificates for transparency.

Why Choose SVR Global Check Valve?

SVR Global provides a high performance check valve engineered for minimal pressure drop and maximum seat tight integrity. By focusing on precision-machined internal components and robust material selection, our valves reduce maintenance costs and protect critical infrastructure. Our designs prioritize quick-closing action to eliminate the risk of water hammer, ensuring long-term system stability.
